GAL Procedures, Policies, Agreements & Forms
Step 1
Introduction
Speak with you and your attorney about my process, required intake documents, and availability.
Step 2
Getting appointed by the judge
In order to be the GAL in your case, I need to get appointed by the judge in your family law matter.
Step 3
Retainer Payment
Once I’m appointed as the GAL in your case, each party will need to pay their portion of the initial retainer (25 hours of services) so that I can begin work in your case.
Step 4
Policies, Agreements, & Consent
Each parent will receive my policies, fee agreement, consent, and questionnaire forms for review, completion and/or signature. Your attorney will receive my communication policies as well.
Step 5
Getting to work
We will schedule a time to meet and the investigation will proceed pursuant to the court’s order.
